This past week I hit a couple major milestones in this project. The 50-k Active/Athlete Challenge passed the 100 member mark. I want to that all of you who have joined and helped spread the word. Please keep it up.
I also launched the 50-k Active/Athlete Challenge website – www.50-k.net. The objective of the site is to inspire, support, and reward those who take the Challenge. Take a look, join if you haven’t, and tell everyone you know about it. The high-level motivation is to create a healthier world, 50,000 people at a time. You can email me with your thoughts on the Challenge at email@example.com.
I’ve also been getting great compliments on my book. People have been telling me how much they enjoyed reading about the athletes, and how it has made them think about their participation in their sport. I get so psyched when people tell me that it has really made them think. That’s the point! Please tell everyone you know about the book, and let me know what you think about it by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org.
In this blog I’m featuring someone who has taken the 50-k Challenge. Diane has been a big promoter of the Challenge – Thanks Diane, Keep it up!
Diane Jones-Bolton of Nashville, Tennessee joined the 50-k Active/Athlete Challenge after a friend forwarded her information about the Facebook group. She joined the 50-k Challenge because she loves a good challenge, and expects the Challenge to motivate her and help her be accountable. Diane is a Master Of Many (M.O.M.), and works hard to fit her training in with all her other responsibilities. She belongs to a group called Marathon Maniacs (www.marathonmaniacs.com), and has the goal of running 30 marathons in 30 different cities in a year. As you can imagine, this entails spending lots of time and energy just making the arrangements, and Diane gets tons of support from her Maniac friends. Diane has been a super recruiter for the 50-k Challenge, and enjoys encouraging and inspiring people to adopt the healthy habits the Challenge promotes. Thanks Diane!
I’m happily on vacation in Rifle Colorado this week camping and rock climbing. Boy, do I love to climb. I feel so lucky to have discovered something I love to do sooooooo much. I hope you feel that way too.
